I received a call from Michelle at the cardiac assessment unit, Altnagelvin hospital recently. She asked me what my symptoms were, how long I had been feeling unwell, how I knew that something was wrong. She asked me probing questions, listened carefully & was very attentive.
Having listened to me she said she would check with a cardiologist & give me a call back. She called me back & asked me to come in for a transferrin blood test & ECG the next day. She asked me to take an overnight bag in case I might have to stay. She was extremely customer focused.
On arriving at the cardiac assessment unit the next day I was taken by Janet for an ECG & a blood test. She told me that the results of the blood test would take a few hours.
She came back for me in 2 hours to say my transferrin level was high & I would need to have a procedure. She said this might take some time.
During my stay at cardiac assessment I was constantly updated by Janet as to what I could expect to happen next, great customer service. Thank you to the team.
