After seeking help from my local NHS accident and emergency in Aberdeen I was made to feel like a child even though I am a 23 year old man.
I have done something to my foot and it is very sore, I couldn't get an appointment to see my GP so being in a lot of pain I felt my only option was to visit A and E just to be told I had no right to come to A and E. I pay my taxes so how can I have no right? I was also told that I shouldn't come to A and E unless its traumatic and life threatening, so where do I turn ?
I understand there is a lot of strain on the NHS at the moment just as there is a lot of strain on my foot. I am very upset at the moment and can barely walk. I need my foot to carry out my job as I work in construction. I just feel that I wasn't seen thoroughly and my mind wasn't put at rest there is definitely something else going on and I feel that I was just told anything to get me out the door quicker.
I also asked if I could have an x-ray and I was told "I didn't need an x-ray" but how can someone tell that by looking at my foot ? The doctor I had didn't appear professional at all and had no empathy whatsoever. I understand there is a pandemic but I also understand the NHS has a duty of care that doesn't stop just because they are busy. I am very disappointed in our NHS and will definitely be thinking twice before using any of the services again
