My mother in law was admitted to North Devon in early November with a blocked bowel and she was resident in the King George V for approximately six weeks. She was seriously ill and for some time considered terminally ill. But aged nearly 90, suddenly she began to recover and then was moved to Sussex where her sons and their families all lived.
We want to thank all the staff from the caterers and cleaners to the sisters in charge for the amazing, kindness, care and friendliness that they showed to her over this time, and to her sons and their families and local friends.
Please can you pass particular thanks to two student nurses who were immensely kind throughout; Sophie and Kath who were on the wards during this time. Also, the senior nurse Leanne who often looked after her on day and night shifts. Leanne’s particular attention to her was valued by all of us, and her experience gave us hope she would recover and we always knew she was in excellent hands.
Most of us had little contact with the inside of a hospital and we were amazed by the generous nature and the talent of so many people. You guys have so much to cope with. Honestly you are all wonderful. Please share with the ward and the staff. Thank you
