The doctor did a scan and told me I needed a biopsy. They tried 3 times without success, I so wanted it to work so I gritted my teeth, but to no avail. I felt I was a failure because the procedure didn’t work. I was told I would need a hysteroscopy and a Mirena coil would be fitted. At no time was I asked if I was in agreement with this. I was told I needed this because I was obese and had never had children. I was not offered any advice on how to prepare for the hysteroscopy but was given a leaflet to read and told to google Mirena coils.
I was devastated by the experience, I am terrified to have the hysteroscopy but my GP tells me I should have one. My original complaint of post menopausal bleeding is getting worse, but I have heard nothing since last November. I feel alone and neglected, every day I think my condition may be worsening, but no one at Raigmore seems to care. It’s not my fault that I was never able to have children, and although I am medically described as obese. I try everything to keep my weight under control. I am 72 and only eat healthy foods. I tried to explain that I was very nervous about the examination because I have suffered sexual abuse in my past, however, it seemed that no cognisance of this fact was taken into account. I left Raigmore, alone and shaken, I then had to drive 56 miles to my home without a word of comfort. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy.
