My dad sadly passed away today from respiratory damage due to COVID. I just wanted to thank and praise all the staff that treated him in the week between his admission and passing. From the ambulance service who brought him in. The staff in A&E at GRI. Ward 50 and then Ward 48.
Everyone I met was kind compassionate and helpful. However the service me and my brothers received by the staff on Ward 48 a red coco Ward was exceptional. All staff from the HCSW who collected us from A&E to Dr McGarry who called me then came to speak to us about my dad and in particular nurses Emma and Julie.
They made what was a very sad and difficult time for us as easy as possible and their kindness and compassion made all the difference to my dads last few days and to the family’s experience of saying goodbye to him. I am so thankful and proud of our NHS staff we are so lucky to have you.
"I am so thankful and proud"
