I called this morning (28th Jan) to book a medication review. The receptionist I spoke to first - after only a very short wait on hold - once they had established what I needed explained that someone from the prescriptions team would call me back "later in the day" to conduct the initial review. I know how busy you must all be so I was quite happy to wait for the call whenever it may be. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear my phone going only a few minutes later. The person I spoke to was both friendly and efficient - a tough balance to get right, but this was spot-on - and after taking me through the necessary questions was able to approve my medication there and then. This really is excellent service all round, and for us it's nothing out of the ordinary. There are always horror stories going around about people unable to get an appointment for weeks on end or never seeing the same GP twice. I have NEVER had an experience like this at St. Helier's, and feel really quite blessed to have such a wonderful practice on my doorstep. Everyone I've ever had dealings with - doctors, nurses, receptionists, the lot - has come up to the same high standard. Well done to all of you, and thank you for keeping going - and keeping us all going - through what must have been a horrendously difficult couple of years.
"A splendid GPs' practice"
