"Fantastic treatment"

About: Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a hip replacement done 6 weeks ago at the Victoria Infirmary Fife. My path to surgery started in June 2021 when I was seen by the surgeon, Mr Dunstan, who examined me and told me that I needed a total hip replacement.  He also told me that he would plan to have it done by Xmas. He was as good as his word in that it was done by mid December. I am now well on the way to recovery having seen him today and been signed off.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say how fantastic my treatment has been, I am so impressed by the efficiency, professionalism and kindness by all members of the team. As you will be more than aware the NHS is under tremendous pressure as we speak and given that I am ever so grateful for the service I have had, it is great testament to all concerned that they can deliver such great service under the current situation.

Dear Hoggy,

Thank you for posting such lovely feedback.

As the Senior Charge Nurse, is both reassuring and pleasing to hear about your orthopaedic experience given the challenges we have had to encounter. It certainly has been difficult at times but to hear such positivity makes it all worthwhile. I will ensure that your comments are shared with all involved.

Good luck in your continued recovery

Best Wishes

Lorna
