"Careful guidance and encouragement"

About: Oncology / Physical Activity Classes

(as the patient),

During my stay in 10 North Belfast City Hospital I was introduced to Joe - a Physical Activity Coach - funded by Friends of the Cancer Centre. Joe guided me through a series of simple strengthening & flexibility exercises following my courses of chemo. It not only strengthened unused muscles & improved flexibility,  but also improved my emotional & mental well being under careful guidance & encouragement.

An exercise instruction leaflet explaining the exercises was also provided to practice alone.

There are also online classes taken by Joe to continue with following discharge home.

A very good service.

Dear Rjclk

Thank you for taking the time to post about your experiences with Joe our Friends of the Cancer Centre Physical Activity coach. I am delighted that this has helped your physical and emotional well being. I will pass on your kind words to both Joe and the rest of the Physiotherapy team in the Cancer Centre.

Best wishes,

Bernie
