"Brilliant support for my child"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Brought my child in through ED as he was suffering from an infection.  He was seen very quickly by the doctors and they were brilliant in dealing with him. My child has autism so cannot be in crowded or loud places as they become agitated.  The nurses where very accommodating to this and brought us to an area that was quiet and comfortable.

The way they have treated my child has been excellent, and they always smile every time one of the staff members come in.   They are great at keeping him positive. The blossom unit is brilliant, the food and cleanliness has been 10/10 just a big thank you to all the staff in blossom as you are all amazing at what you do!

Dear Aoiyf36 thank you for sharing your experience with us; we really appreciate your comments. I am so glad that your child's journey through ED did not cause any further stress at an already anxious time for both of you.

The staff on Blossom will really appreciate your lovely comments which I will ensure is shared with them; they are a great team and will be very pleased to know that they made such a positive impact on your child. Your comment on the ward cleanliness will be shared with domestic services colleagues who will be delighted.

Thank you so much for taking time to contact us and I wish your child a speedy recovery.

Best wishes

Bernie

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this lovely feedback about the experience that you and your son had in the Emergency Department and Blossom. I'm pleased that the nursing and medical staff were able to meet your child's needs. Hospital can be a very scary place for children, especially those with sensory problems. Good food and cleanliness is also extremely important in hospital.

I wish you and your child all the best, David
