"Stretching those limbs"

About: Oncology / Bridewater Suite - Oncology

(as the patient),

Being locked in a room for a month recovering from a Stem Cell operation

Stem cell transplantation, you need extra motivation to get up and active. Joe  from Friends of the Cancer Centre  was there to help create some structure and encouragement during the stay. Back home, he also continued a more thorough routine using Zoom video, which anchored my week every Friday for 12 weeks after treatment. This made sure I kept things moving, and with the help of regular walks, cycles and stretching, my recovery has been far better than expected. I can't praise Joe enough for what he does, and will continue using his pre-recorded video as a basis for keeping flexible and building the musles and strengthening the bones that had become so brittle because of Myloma.
