I received the bowel screening pack. I did not do it immediately but got a call from my GP saying to get it done. Did it, waited for the result which came through as positive. Was worried as I had already had surgery on my decending colon 33 years before. I was sent first to Oban for colonscopy and biopsy, result inconclusive. Was transferred to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock under the Consultant Ms Brown and her team, another colonoscopy, results again inconclusive, but Ms Brown was convinced it was malignant. She arranged a CT scan, followed up with a meeting with me, scheduled an operation. At this stage she was unsure if it would be 'keyhole' or not. Surgery successful, keyhole, confirmed as a maligant tumour, appointment made with oncologist, good prognosis, no chemo and now recovering. I had a great deal of faith in Ms Brown and her team.
