My first experience was IRP induction. The team member Jason has helped me to get clean of my codeine addiction. I never thought it possible but he has helped to save my life. Through Jason I have also joined N.A. I often log into the meditation groups too. I also undertook the IRP core with Jarrod. This course is tackling why we have addictions and how to manage them. This course is intense but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learned to challenge my thought process. I also undertook a course by intuitive thinking. Again I was se blessed to be put forward for another course. This course taught me to challenge my negative thing and say NO when my thoughts turn to giving into the addiction.
I have been enrolled in the ACT group since August last year.
Acceptance, commitment, therapy. This group makes me feel safe to be honest with the group about how I'm doing. My peers and Kieren (who is amazing) help me with advise. I feel safe and I feel like I'm not alone!
Most importantly the skills I have learned there, I am able to use them in the outside world!
My keyworker Gee is beyond superb. I trust her completely which is something I don't do too easily. I can talk to her, she helps me, she validates my thoughts + feelings. I can say with complete honestly inclusion, the courses, staff have helped save my life and I know I have to use these skills for life to help me stay clean.
