"Covid 19/Pulmonary Fibrosis"

About: Western General Hospital / Respiratory Medicine

(as the patient),

I was admitted to WGH in February with Covid19 to ward 42, was there 3 days then admitted to ICU ward 20 for 110 days then spent time back in ward 42 then ward 54.

I couldn't have hoped to be looked after in a better place. From the doctors, nurses, student nurses, occupational therapists, physios and cleaners. Every single one of them took time to help and encourage me to get better. Every one of you deserve a medal.

Even when I was moved from ICU to ward 42 then ward 52 some of you even took the time to visit me on the wards. I do apologise to everyone who came to see me from ICU and I could not remember them but Covid does that to your memory.

I cannot thank you all enough for saving my life. I now have pulmonary fibrosis due to Covid which is difficult but I'm coping.

Dear ELL8566,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of care at the Western General with us. I can only imagine how difficult your journey has been, being in hospital for such a long time must have been very frightening. I have shared your kind words with the staff who are delighted to hear you are doing well. I am sure the staff in respiratory will continue to support you to manage your pulmonary fibrosis and I do hope you continue to improve

Thank you once again, your feedback has given the staff a welcome boost.

Stay safe

Geraldine
