"Communicating with hospital"

About: Norwich Community Hospital

(as a relative),

My husband has been in hospital for several weeks. He was admitted with suspected chest infection after falling out of bed at home.

After being in  for a week I was informed that he had a broken hip. This was operated on the next day. My biggest complaint is the time it takes for staff to answer the phone

Since there is no visiting the phone is the only way to gain information. I was told he was due to be discharged. but heard nothing. I made 35 attempts to contact ward with no response on the day.

Made further calls without success this morning. I realise the staff are very busy but this seems to be a ridiculous amount of calls with no response.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with communication. I'd like to look into this further for you so please could you contact complaints@nchc.nhs.uk and provide more details so that we can investigate.

Kind regards
