"Friendly and professional Activity Class"

My Consultant recommended completing a Physical Activity Class with Joe through Friends of the Cancer Centre as part of my preparations and recovery from having my bladder removed. 

Joe was friendly and professional throughout and put me at ease, even when I wasn’t the most tech savvy. With the help of my family I had my initial consultation with Joe, this gave him the opportunity to assess my physical fitness and discuss with me what I aimed to get out of the course. I had 5 classes prior to my surgery and another 6 after my recovery from surgery.

The class was well structured and each exercise was very well explained by Joe with him continually checking how we were getting on and helping us to get the most out of the activities. I enjoyed the sessions and it was also good to be in a group who were going through similar experiences to myself. Although I had always tried to keep myself reasonably active the course helped me to work on my strength, mobility and core. I would recommend this class to others and I would like to thank Joe for the way he made me feel part of the group and how he guided and help me during this time.
