About: Swanage Community Hospital

Was advised to visit by 111 to take pressure of the larger hospitals in the county. I was staying nearby when I became quite ill. Needed a once over from a professional to check a long standing condition. Receptionist was sarcastic. Although the nurse was friendly and welcoming. They missed all the signs of my condition worsening and sent me on my way. That night I ended up in Dorchester hospital for 3 nights which could have easily been avoided. Only come to this hospital for minor cuts and scrapes and wound dressing. Anything else you’ll be putting your health at risk.

The Swanage Minor Injury Unit cares for patients with minor injuries and minor ailments and continues to receive positive patient feedback for the service that is provided there. We are committed to continually improving our service and would welcome any further information you may want to provide to us in order to investigate this further.
