Words cannot express how I feel about this GP Surgery right now.
I understand people getting frustrated with the service at times, but it is not the GP Practice's fault. More and more people are entering the country and the GP's are so so busy. I appreciate it is frustrating at times, but I can honestly say Oakeswell saved my life on the Wed 10.11.21.
The previous weekend I had incorrectly been diagnosed with knee ligament damage by Walsall Manor A&E twice, Sat & Sun.
By the Wed, I was crying in pain and couldn't take any more. I called the GP just after 8 and thankfully the reception managed to get me in to see the a doctor on the same morning.
I was so grateful, I cannot explain!
Thankfully, I got to see the most amazing GP.
I have seen her before and I can remember my first experience being outstanding too.
I told her my story and by this time my leg was twice the size of what it normally is, I was very concerned.
As soon as she saw it, she was on the phone to the hospital and instructed me to go to A&E Sandwell urgently as this is serious.
What neither of us knew at this stage, was that I had septic arthritis and it was very serious.
I went straight to A&E and I had several procedures and operations and im now recovering.
The moral of the story is, that thankfully between reception and the Dr, they saved my life.
If I couldn't have got in that day and did what Walsall Manor had told me to do, the infection would have spread further and killed me.
I cannot thank everyone at Oakeswell Health Centre that was involved on the day, especially the Dr, I owe you all everything.
I will be coming to the surgery very soon with a little thank you, again I cannot thank you all enough.
