Last Monday I had a scan which revealed ectopic pregnancy, within 5 hours I was in theatre having emergency surgery. All the staff were absolutely amazing, it was the most scariest day of my life and they made everything so much more calmer for me. There was a lady that sat with me before theatre and during my op who held my hand as I was so frightened of the procedure, she talked me through the whole thing and made me feel so much better. Despite nhs staff being extremely busy they really amazed me that day and helped me stay comfortable. I cannot thank any of them enough.

I am so sorry for your pregnancy loss and that you were diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy. It must have been such a distressing experience and upsetting time for you. I am very glad to know that the EPU and Theatre teams gave you the high quality treatment, care and support that you needed. I have passed on your feedback to Sister Fiona Low, Manager of Women’s Day Services, Sister Claire O’Donnell Ocean Ward Manager and Dr Alex, Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, who will ensure that your kind words are shared with their teams and their professionalism and compassion are acknowledged.
