I firstly saw Dr Zang, a Consultant Surgeon (Urology), at Newton Abbot Hospital outpatients clinic, for examination following referral by my GP. I had just had my MRI scan at Torbay hospital prior to this initial consultation.
When the results of the MRI scan became known, Dr Zang advised I have a prostate biopsy as a precautionary measure.
I want to express my sincere thanks to Dr Zhang and her team for their care, concern and professional skills during my procedure. When I walked into the day surgery unit, I was immediately made to feel reassured, and the registration could not have been better. When I walked into the theatre and saw a team of 5, I suddenly realised the biopsy is not an insignificant procedure, but it was conducted so efficiently and with minimal fuss, the stress levels were massively reduced. In hindsight the biopsy is a gruesome experience and as the day approached for my admission, I was becoming more tense. Not sure whether online video depictions of the procedure helped or not. Anyway it is now done, my recovery has been without problems and I move on. A massive thanks to them all. They are wonderful people.
