"The care of my partner and myself received at New Cross hospital December 2021"

My partner (David) become ill quiet suddenly. He found eating difficult and was in terrible pain while passing urine. We had little success from the doctors surgery so visited A and E at New Cross hospital.

David was admitted to hospital and underwent many tests which led to a number of operations. 

During his time in ICU and on ward A14 he was looked after with such care and compassion by ALL members of staff. It became evident that David was not responding to the treatment given. It was at that point that all staff involved with David's care showed me the same care and compassion as they did him. Everything was explained in detail. I was greatly supported throughout my time spent with him at the hospital. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff gave up their time to talk to me and check on my wellbeing whilst giving David such great care. David died on the 6th December. I will always be so thankful to the care and support given to both David and myself. I would like to thank all the staff that performed the operations, staff on ICU and on ward A14 at New Cross hospital. They all work so hard with such great care. Thank you
