(as a service user),

I have been attending Brand Street for  help . I sometimes come across as angry as I find it hard to express myself. Admin staff go the extra mile and treat me with respect unlike other receptionist. No one turns you away , doesn’t matter who you are in to see if your upset or anxious someone passing by will stop and ask you what’s wrong.  Staff always friendly, remember your name and say hi. I had been struggling with my CPN , I think just an age thing and asked for a different one. Right away I received a call from Jacqueline Team leader , she didn’t judge , was understanding and reassuring. That call changed my life, she listened , made sure that I understood some people don’t get on and it’s ok to say. She said that some people disengage due to not getting on and she encourages people to have a voice and be involved in their care plan . I got a new CPN who’s a better fit. Jacqueline encouraged me to contact her if there’s a problem and said she would call in a few months time , which she did. I want to thank her as she made a difference to my life.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion and for letting us know about your positive experiences with the staff at Brand Street, especially Jacqueline. I am pleased to read that you were able to speak to Jacqueline about your struggles and that Jacqueline was able to arrange a new CPN.
