Having been operated on to have a valve replaced and an aneurysm dealt with in July, I have been working towards returning to a normal life though the second half of 2021. The cardio nurse and the physios of the Fife Community Cardiac Service has been a fantastic source of support and information. Throughout the rehabilitation process they have proactively provided guidance to help determine goals and reactive responses to questions and issues that have come up. This personal support has been more than I had ever thought would be available, and has made the whole experience much easier and less stressful. Their communication of the plans of what should happen was excellent and meant I understood how things would progress. Both the drugs plans with the cardio nurses and the exercise plans with the physios. The physio's classes have been excellent ,explaining how to exercise safely and how to get back to full fitness again,
The close support provided by the team has made a fundamental difference to my recovery, and most importantly, I have always felt that there is someone there who understands what I am going through and is there to support me. The alternative of having to work though issues alone or have to find someone to ask questions each time they came up would have made recovery a much more daunting and frightening process.
All round I have had fantastic support from the Fife Community Cardiac Service and they have made a huge difference to my recovery.
