I was admitted to the ACAD unit at the beginning of December under the care of my surgeon Phil and his team. This was my sixth surgery to treat complex fistulas.
I was offered fantastic care and support from the moment I arrived to the moment I was discharged. As always, Phil and his team ensured that I was listened to and my surgery was tailored, as far as possible, to my needs and priorities.
Additionally, the nursing team around Phil, were kind and professional at all times.
I was discharged from hospital at 2pm with the correct medication and information to ensure that I continued to recover at home at the right pace for me.
I cannot thank all at ACAD unit enough for supporting me through this procedure. Considering the current climate that the NHS finds itself in at the moment I was not expecting to be receiving any sort of intervention for my problem until the new year. I was overwhelmed with the level of professionalism and care offered.
This procedure will allow me to continue to live a full life and attend to all of my family and work commitments.
Thank you to all involved.
