"The best service anyone could ask for"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a carer),

I just want to thank our NHS and our 111 service, yes I had to hold yesterday on the telephone line to speak to someone, but I got the best service that anyone could ask for, I was treated very well and kept up to date as the call handler talked to Nursing Staff, I was able to get an out of hours Prescription very quickly and felt 100 times better this morning, wish I had done it on Friday instead of trying to brave it out all weekend until I couldn't stand the pain any longer, but Thank You so much for your excellent service NHS 111.

I'm sorry you had an extended wait time for your call to be answered. Please be assured we are aware that wait times have been longer than we would like and we are working hard on this.

We are indeed incredibly lucky to have such a service in Scotland where we can receive advice and care during the out of hours period when GP surgeries are closed. Should you feel unwell in the future, please don't hesitate to call us.

I have responded to you to explain that we have been able to identify the staff at NHS 24 who managed your call to our service and have shared your kind comments with them. Such feedback is fantastic for our staff to receive.

I have explained in my response to you that the person who arranged for the prescription to be provided is based within NHS FIfe's Out of Hours service, therefore we have shared your kind comments with NHS Fife also.
