Daisy Hill Hospital staff are very friendly while being good at what they do. The last few weeks have been difficult for me and my family as my husband spent some time in hospital and the day before he was discharged, I was admitted. This means that there has been a prolonged period where my husband and I have not seen each other. We have been using the virtual visiting service which really helped us get through this hard time and I could not imagine how I would have coped without it. It happens that my husband and I have were on the same ward so I met some of the staff while on the video call with my husband. When I was admitted I was able to catch up with staff and they could inform me on how my husband was as it has been so long from when I saw him last. The staff were not only so friendly in helping me when I was feeling quite emotional, but the care they provide is top quality. The staff in Daisy Hill want to help you but they also want to get to know you and make your hospital experience a bit more pleasant.

Good afternoon

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the new Virtual Visiting Service in Southern Health and Social Services Trust. We recognise how difficult it is for families at the minute due to Covid 19.

This new service has been established to try to support families and patients during this time and your story just lets us see how the important the service has been to you and your husband which must have been such a difficult time for you both.

Your own experience then in the hospital must have been so hard but it is lovely to read that the staff were able to help and support you during this time.

I have personally shared this story with all the members of the virtual Visiting Team. They are just delighted with this feedback.

We hope that you are both continuing to improve.
