I broke my Humerus after a trip at the back door in April. Thankfully our Granddaughter was in the house at the time & was able to muster Ambulance assistance as I could not move. This accident resulted in my wife being relocated to Jean Mackie Centrea as she had dementia, Her move was the last time she was at home as she died in Bandrum Nursing home in July, pausing our 65 year unconditional love affair.
After examination a sling was placed and I then had to exercise gradually to start with till now where my shoulder is much better & 90% mobility restored. I would register my appreciation of the overall service provided by Victoria Hospital fracture unit, associated nursing care & now visits to Whitefield Day Hospital in Queen Margaret Hospital where my wife nursed many years ago. They have been very good with no complaints on overall services provided.
That accident has made me much more careful as it happened due to me catching my foot on the underside of the threshold timber at back door. The Physiotherapist @ Whitefield (Eilidh) is very good explaining my exercises as we go along. The overall result from my fall has been a diagnosis of Osteoperosis and I now have tablets to assist in keeping my bones stronger. Well done Fife Care partnership for all your help over the last years not only with me but also with my wife through Fife Council start team & Integrity care personnel who were excellent. My God I miss her terribly.
