A new life has arrived in the world, a shining star, a beautiful baby. What a wonderful feeling of joy and celebration. Then why do I feel so depressed, low self-esteem and lost...?
Many changes have happened. New overwhelming responsibilities, relationship dynamic and on top of this kicking a 20 year addiction to marijuana. My brain wrestles with these new changes. Running a million miles an hour for the fist time in decades. What to do with all these bombarding thoughts? which can be enemies of the mind at times.Have I been self medicating? Low self worth, childhood depression, suicide in the family.
How CBT has helped me.
Organise you mind. Rationalise your thoughts. Write it down. Make lists. Prioritise. Get out of those negative patterns. Learn to deal with... life. Be more zen. Enjoy yourself, have fun. Your worth it!It's not that easy.
I keep practicing, keep reasserting the changes. Anyone can do it! The neuroplasticity of the brain allowed for new systems. You need to help yourself, but it's really helpful to have an amazing guide.
Thank you Natasha for listening, your advice, understanding and kindness.
