"A positive experience"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as the patient),

I unfortunately had to be admitted to the CAU at Crosshouse twice within a two week period.

My experience was generally a positive one and I'd like to thank the nurses and doctors who were involved in my care. Staff are all lovely and made my stay as pleasant as possible.

I haven't had the best experiences from the NHS over the last few years, having a complex chronic condition which is totally overlooked and underfunded in terms of treatment/care and research. So it's nice to finally write something positive.

If I had to be very picky I'd say that I think hand washing practice could be improved and also the food is really not the best however overall it was a good experience.

Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to post your lovely feedback, which the team in the Combined Assessment Unit (CAU) will be delighted to receive. It will be really encouraging for them to know that their efforts to provide person-centred care have been appreciated.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be living with a condition such as yours, and I am sorry that your needs have not always been adequately met or understood in the past.

Please be assured that we recognise the importance of hand washing and other infection prevention and control measures within clinical settings and compliance is regularly monitored to provide assurance that guidance is being followed consistently.

We aim to provide freshly cooked, nutritious meals for our patients and continually seek to improve this aspect of the service but I am sorry that we did not achieve this for you.
