"Very attentive care"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Elective Overnight Stay Centre/Gynaecology Ward Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My GP referred me up to A and E as I wasn’t quite feeling myself. Initially they thought I potentially had heart murmur but then they did some bloods and noticed that my CRP was quite high. They now believe I have chest infection and they are waiting for microbiology to get back to them with the results of the cultures.

I was very lucky with the time that I went into a and e as it was not too busy. All the staff in the department were lovely and were very kind to me. I had to wait to get up onto the ward as there were no beds available but it wasn’t too bad as I was quite comfortable.

Since I got onto the ward this morning the nurses have been really nice to me. They are very attentive and do their best to get you whatever you need. They have even said for me to just come and find them if I need anything and no one has popped in recently. The doctors I’ve encountered have been very good at explaining what is going on as well.
