"“So grateful for this service”"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

3AM desperately trying to “switch off” the worries. After months of this getting progressively worse, I started googling for help. That’s when I came across “INCLUSION THURROCK”. I could refer myself and it was all done online. First step done!

The next morning my phone rung with a number that I was sure to be Inclusion. Suddenly, I didn’t feel so brave. I ignored the calls and emails, and tried to convince myself that, actually I wasn’t that bad & I could manage this by myself. That next night/morning and another 3AM panic fuelled awakening changed my mind. I needed help.

The hardest thing throughout the process for me, was to pick up the phone and ask for help.

Following that, INCLUSION THURROCK have turned my life around.

I feel unbelievably lucky that I was matched with the wonderful Louise. I remember our first sessions, i was a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect.

A few months on and I’d look forward to our sessions.

Louise radiates compassion, warmth and love for what she does. From the offset, we had giggles and I immediately opened up. Something I don’t always find easy.

I suppose for Louise, she was doing her job (unbelievably well may I add). For me, she was quite literally turning my life around.

If you’re unsure. My journey with Louise started in February 2021. At that stage, popping to the shop made me physically shake.

This year, I have gained the confidence to leave the job I didn’t like, go for a job I was convinced I wouldn’t get. More importantly, have the confidence to know that if I wasn’t successful then that would have been ok.

But I did get that job! And Louise couldn’t have been more invested and thrilled!

I went to a scare festival, WHAT!

Loads of people, loud music … everything I thought I hated!

The thought of it terrified me more than the actual event itself!

But that was ok because I had my “Louise tools” and I actually had the most amazing evening.

I’ve started travelling again, my absolute passion in life.

And I have SO much more planned.

I feel free, I feel hopeful, and for the first time in a long time I feel BRAVE!

Thank you so much to Louise for everything she does (She deserves the world).

All the team at inclusion are always SO welcoming and lovely.

If you’re unsure … please give it a go! Be open minded, trust in the process and it can work.

Dear CB9qt93,

Thank you for leaving feedback. It sounds like you had a really tough time during the night. It’s normal to feel reluctant about making changes but well done for recognising you need support and taking your first step.

It’s also normal to feel nervous about the first few sessions but I’m glad to hear that Louise made you feel comfortable enough to open up about your issues. It seems like the tools and techniques gave you the confidence to step out of your comfort zone and do the things you previously may not have done. It’s easy to let your thoughts take over and influence the decisions you make, but it’s important to remember that thoughts aren’t facts. I’m happy to see that you've enjoyed yourself at the festival and have also rediscovered your passion for travelling. Congratulations on getting that job too! It’s amazing to know that even if you didn’t get it, you’d be in a good place mentally and be able to cope with whatever happened next. I hope you can continue to use the tools you’ve learnt and keep applying them to your daily life. Everyone here at Inclusion Thurrock is grateful for your kind words and proud of your journey. Wishing you all the best!

Femi Badmus
