Since my previous GP surgery on Nevil Rd closed, I was forced to move. Unfortunately, the Montpelier Health Centre has simply had too many patients and not enough capacity to provide anything approaching a good service.
I have struggled to get appointments for myself (adult,) but previously managed to get appointments for my children. This is no longer the case. It is a real concern that there are not appointments available for children under three. Over an hour waiting in the queue, then you are referred to a pharmacy. You go to the pharmacy, who tell you they'll email the the surgery who will call you. No call from surgery - so you wait another hour and a quarter to get through - reception then promise a phonecall that never comes.
The nurses on vaccination are good, but both receptionists and doctors seem tired and stressed.
When my daughter was ill over the summer, 111 doctors told me on telephone to drop off stool samples to the surgery. I did this, then 9 days later get a call from surgery saying they don't know why they are receiving the samples. What were they doing with the samples for 9 days?! Worryingly disorganised and over-capacity. They are doing their best, but when their best does not include seeing an ill 3 year old child, it's time to move.
"Disorganised practice and impossible to get…"
