"Wonderful care"

About: Victoria Hospital / Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT)

(as a service user),

Recently I had my first experience of the OPAT unit at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and what a wonderful experience it was.

From the moment we arrived , we were made to feel welcome and relaxed.

My husband was shown to the waiting area where he was offered tea / coffee.I was then shown to a chair where a very friendly, professional nurse explained exactly what would be happening. After I had my drip up and observations taken, I was offered tea and they even had biscuits. I had to have several other appointments and they went out of their way to be accommodating to when it was convenient to us.The other patients were all very friendly and we had lots of banter between us  and also between the staff too.All in all a very very pleasant experience .

I would be more than happy to reassure anyone referred to this unit, what a lovely relaxed unit this is.

Thank you for taking the time to post this wonderful review of our Unit. It was so nice to read that you and your husband were made to feel relaxed and well looked after even getting a cup of tea and some banter which all leads to a friendly and pleasant environment. I hope your are continuing to recover and the Unit wishes you well.
