After a frosty reception initially I was seen by a nurse for streaming. I felt somewhat unsteady on my feet but she did not think it relevant to take my BP, even though I prompted her.
After an hour and a half I asked the receptionist how many patients were in front of me and if patients were being prioritised.
The receptionist told me that patients weren't being prioritised as it was too busy.
So I sat and waited until I was called in at about 18.45.
My appt had been booked by 111 for 16.20.
When I went in to be treated I was looked after by two lovely members of staff who were very pleasant and efficient.
My only gripe is I worry if somebody attending the clinic is more unwell than some of the walking wounded or minor injuries patients, but who may not be seen according to medical need.
I arrived at the clinic feeling quite unsteady and dizzy and luckily there was a spare seat.
Otherwise I would have had to sit on the floor.
I appreciate all the staff are working extremely hard and doing a brilliant job but I feel the systems in place may be detrimental to patient outcomes.
