"Post Cancer Support"

About: Oncology / Physical Activity Classes

(as a service user),

I was recovering from post cancer related surgery and treatment when my keyworker suggested I utilise the classes available through the Friends of the Cancer Centre Activity Coach. Due to Covid-19 precautions, classes were online which suited me and enabled me to engage over the 12 week programme. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and indeed looked forward to it each week, done at my own pace the exercise actually motivated me to continue exercise throughout the week which has helped my recovery.

At the end of the program I was referred to step down programs and am availing of this through Macmillan. I would recommend this support to anyone who needs some encouragement to get back into looking after their physical health lost cancer treatment. The coach, Joe, makes the class enjoyable and easy to engage in.

Dear Cmo90,

Thank you for taking the time to post about our Physical Activity classes ran by Joe the Friends of the Cancer Centre Physical Activity Coach. I am delighted to hear that you have enjoyed them and that they have motivated you to continue exercising.

I will pass on your kind words to Joe and the rest of the physiotherapy team.

Best wishes,

Bernie
