I was referred to A&E at Queens hospital by 911. It is not my local hospital, but they have an emergency Gynae department. I first came in contact with an amazing nurse who triaged me in the main A&E department and then sent me up to Gynae. I was in excruciating pain. Although I had to wait to see a Gynaecologist I wasn't alone as there were a lot of pregnant women also waiting so maybe their need was greater than mine as they were probably there for pregnancy complications. However, once I was seen by the female Gynaecologist I felt I was in safe hands. She did a thorough examination and sent my urine for immediate testing and she also performed a smear test. The urine was sent to the lab and came back as a urine infection and she prescribed antiobiotics immediately. Although I hadn't presented with the usual symptoms of a urine infection. A week later I got the smear test results, which were thankfully clear. The service I received at the hospital was very good.
"AMAZING GYNAE service"
