We (myself and my three siblings) recently lost our beloved Dad to cancer.
He died on 4th November in Ward 4 South in Craigavon Hospital. My sister, my two brothers and my mother would like to thank all of the staff for the care Dad received, but we would like to single out two nurses for particular mention.
Chloe - you treated Daddy with great care and gentleness and Seanna - you may truly be an angel in earthly form. The kindness and compassion you showed Daddy, and my elderly, and obviously very distressed, Mum helped us all get through a truly awful time. You recognised Daddy as more than just a patient with clinical needs, but as an old man with dignity and with a family who adored him and who were reeling from the speed with which his illness progressed and struggling to come to terms with his fast approaching death.
We can never thank you enough. Nurses do a tough job but some manage, even in these particularly challenging times, to rise above that which is asked of them and bring additional grace, humanity and empathy to their role.
