"Wasted my time"

About: Sexual Health Services - North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Open Clinic)

(as the patient),

First of all when I came to my appointment I waited over half an hour to be called around 1.05pm and my appointment was at 12.30 then when I was called in the doctor told me they will not be changing my coil, as my gp have not abided with the guidelines and shouldn’t have sent me for coil change.

I have waited too long for this appointment and then they would get personal, I told them I have a scan on Thursday but it’s not connected with this appointment so it’s personal and I do not wish to tell they what it's about, they kept asking again n again to tell them or they can’t continue with the appointment.

I was told that my GP should refer me to gynaecologist which I said they have and because the appointment hasn’t arrived and the GP suggest it could be due to the copper coil and requested me to change it to marina coil while I wait for my gynaecologist appointment but this doctor refused and wasted my time and also my fuel. This has made my situation worse. If I had changed to marina coil it could have stopped my problems but unfortunately, this didn’t happen and they sounded so rude.

Dear Farhat786.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the service you received. I would like to apologise that you were taken into your appointment late; I understand this was because previous appointments had over-run.

I have spoken with the Doctor who saw you and she did not intend to come across as rude and apologises if this is how she made you feel. It is very unfortunate that you had been given incorrect advice by your GP and I'd like to apologise that we did not pick this up in your earlier consultations with us, and then you would not have had a wasted journey for your coil fitting. We do regularly communicate to GP's what services we can offer, and the services that we are not able to offer but will ensure we communicate this again to the GP's.

If you wish to discuss this further with me, I would be more than happy to speak with you.
