"Home IV Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy

(as a service user),

After my surgery at CAH, I was introduced, for the first time, to a picc line, the team took their time to explain the process to me. It was a very  easy, completely painless process. Having this line in place, played a huge part, in my speedy discharge from the hospital, which in turn played an essential part in my overall recovery. The opac care team which came to my house daily for 6 weeks, to administer my antibiotics, showed up with a smile, and with their easy reassuring presence. I want to thank everyone involved in my home care treatment, I am so grateful for all your wonderful warm professional care. Thank you

Hello Mary,

My name is Yvonne Murphy and I manager the IV coordinators Pauline and Susan, who inserted your picc line and coordinated your discharge out with district nursing for treatments and the OPAT team for ongoing monitoring.

It is very reassuring to hear this lovely feedback. Thankyou for taking the time to provide it especially following your period of sickness. I will share this with the team.

I hope you remain well and many thanks,

Yvonne
