I feel let down by a1 ward stepping hill hospital. I was admitted September for approx 5 weeks. unfortunately with covid 19. For 18 days I was in a coma on icu. I have no problem with icu they saved my life as got sepsis.
As you can imagine I was drugged up to the eye balls not knowing where I was, I was trundled down to a1 early hours of the morning.
Unbeknown to me I was kicking and lashing out at the porter and the poor doctor. My wife gets a rude awakening, being asked was I a violent man, my wife told them i'm very placid.
Since I was on that ward I was left to being on my own. I had the shakes so I did not get a drink because I knocked the bottle over, and told of for it. I'm 63 not a child I told them. On one occasion the senior member of staff got security on me because I wanted to discharge my self and was kicking up a fuss, it was silly really on both sides as I could not walk. After that I felt the staff had it in for me.
Only one nurse, god bless her understood. The senior member of staff even took the sim out of my phone, I did not realize till I got home.
In truth it was a living hell. It still is, I suffer with ptsd, not just of the covid but with the experience on a1.
