"Better communication needed"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

I have been reading stories about how amazing everyone is here, and this is mostly true. However, I feel some of the children are not getting all their treatment done properly or in good time. Need better communication between nurses and doctors.

And there was the other factor on two occasions of their being a hair in the bowl of fruit served. You would of thought hygiene would be better especially when it comes to food for a children's ward!

Good morning parent 1234. I am sorry that you feel there needs to be better communication between the nurses and doctors. We do strive to ensure that communication is good between everyone in the team so we can implement changes required when requested and we have regular huddles to discuss the patients needs. I am sorry that you feel we do not communicate well at times but we do have processes in place to try and ensure that we get it right. I will share your comments with the team. In regards to the hairs in the fruit, again I can only apologise and will share the information with the catering manager. If you do have any further problems then please contact me direct to discuss further. In the meantime I hope that you and your child are getting better and get home soon from hospital.
