I went to A&E as I was feeling unwell, I had palpitations and felt like I was going to faint. I called my doctor and was waiting on a call back but I felt I couldn’t wait so went to A&E.
I arrived and was checked in at reception. I didn’t have to wait too long before I was called in to triage, I was seen by deputy sister Jo, she was so reassuring and really put me at ease, she explained what she was doing and what was going to happen, she gave me the time I needed and was so kind when I was upset, she didn’t make me feel silly.
I went back to the waiting room and was then called for blood tests and an ecg, this was again very efficient and quick. I was then called by a doctor called James, he spoke to me about how I was feeling and explained what tests they were going to run and why they were running them. I was sent for a chest x Ray which again was very quick and straight forward. Shortly after I was called again by the doctor who gave me my results, thankfully they were all clear. He explained to me why I may have been feeling the way I was and tried to reassure me that I would be ok. I was able to leave but was assured that if I had any further concerns I could return to be checked.
