"I felt alienated"

About: West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / West Glasgow Maternity Care Centre

(as a service user),

Prior to my first midwife appointment, I was feeling nervous but excited. I did not anticipate experiencing such an excruciatingly low level of professionalism.   The midwife refused to wear gloves when taking blood, butchered the blood collection and left me with blood down my arm and on my legs.

Their attitude felt coercive - I felt alienated and judged the moment I stated I have family with autism, that my partner isn’t British and that I experienced and received treatment for depression years back. I felt coerced into rationalising why I was depressed and into detailing this as stemming from a rape years back.  I never wish to return to this place again.
