"Terrible service "

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

My 6 month old son had been poorly for 5 weeks, with difficulty breathing, a cough, temperature, poor feeding etc. we took him to a&e in Cheltenham and explained his symptoms and told them he wasn’t himself and he needs to be looked at. The hospital sent us home after they claimed they had no concerns. We left Cheltenham to go on holiday to Cornwall a couple of days after for our week holiday, with our son’s symptoms not improving we rang 999 and was blue lighted to derriford hospital in Plymouth (Cornwall). Turns out my son was RSV positive and tested positive for bronchiolitis, in which he was hospitalised for 2 days needing constant oxygen and monitoring. I’m very disappointed that Cheltenham hospital hadn’t run any tests to make sure my son was getting the correct medical assistant he needed when he first starting struggling to breathe. I hope this review will help the hospital re evaluate the way they treat and test future patients.
