"Excellent treatment at Lincoln General hospital"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / Medical emergency assessment unit (MEAU)

(as the patient),

I left A and E at Lincoln General after being treated for an infection in a salivary gland. I stood at the car park ticket machine at the hospital main entrance while my wife started getting a ticket but I suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed unconscious. My wife called for help and was quickly joined by hospital security staff and a lady doctor who was leaving the hospital at the end of her shift. The doctor took charge,(I think her name was Laura) and called for an ambulance but none were available so eventually I recovered enough to be put in a wheelchair.

I felt very unwell and was shaking uncontrollably and I lead taken to AandE where the staff weren’t very helpful so the doctor took me direct to the Medical Emergency Admittance Unit and prepared me for drips and so forth.

I was admitted for the night and subsequently found to be ok for discharge the following day.

The security and medical staff were excellent in caring for me and my wife for whom the the episode was frightening.

I am very grateful for the way I was treated, thank you.
