My husband had a hip replacement and ankle surgery at Glasgow Royal Infirmary mid August. Follow up appointments are 8 weeks ankle (had to chase this appointment as one had not been made, had this end September, and scan, all ok so discharged for ankle) and today chasing again for 12 week appointment for hip.
Called last week, no one called back, called today and told first appointment is mid-January. Conveyed my absolute shock and disbelief, staff member I spoke to went to speak to someone, then called me back to say first appointment they have is end of December and is by telephone.
No one has checked my husband's hip since the operation, so no idea if all is ok. Why is there no 12 week appointment, and no face to face? It is not acceptable to wait till the end of December, he also has a job and his employer will want to know if he is fit to return to work. I have been given a telephone number to voice my concerns, I have left a message but no response as yet.
