"Very bad experience"

About: Good Hope Hospital

My last review was glowing, I'm very sorry to say that yesterdays experience was very different. I arrived in A&E with no real triage. I was in excruciating pain a diagnosed potentially life threatening condition. I was told by the triage nurse that I should have gone to the Queen Elizabeth even though good hope is 4 miles from home. Receptionist was disinterested and although I could hardly speak due to pain wasnt very helpful. I was experiencing extreme pain and told to sit in waiting room. After 30 mins I asked how long until I saw someone, I was told 4 hours. I said I cant sit here in this much pain for 4 hours. I told them to take me off their list and I caught an uber to the Queen Elizabeth. I was seen within 15 mins and in a bed within 25 mins. Such a shame that there was no joined up thinking at Good Hope. I wont use Good Hope's A & E again and definately wouldnt recommend it in this instance if you need urgent care.
