"Prescription failure"

About: Church Street Practice

(as a service user),

I was prescribed anti biotics and told they were waiting at a local pharmacy. When I went to collect the pharmacist said they were not there. The next day I called the surgery and then received a message telling me they were at another local pharmacy… went to collect and not there again. I then had to visit the surgery and politely insist on the prescription being sent immediately. I said I would wait while this happened. Extremely frustrating and not the first time this has happened. Can duty doctors send prescriptions electronically once prescribed?

We're sorry to hear that this patient had difficulties recently with a prescription sent to a pharmacist electronically. Our Duty Doctors can and regularly do send prescriptions electronically. Unfortunately without further information we cannot investigate this incident but will happily do so if the patient contacts us directly. Our Practice e-mail address is churchstreet.practicemail@nhs.net Catherine Makepeace, Business Manager
