"Long delays in A&E but nurse are doing their best"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 4 North Surgical Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was admitted to hospital 2 days ago. The wait in A&E was very long and uncomfortable. I then waited about 7 hours for test results. I was then moved to 4 North. The nurses in both A&E and 4 North are lovely and very helpful. The meals have been lovely so far and the ward is kept very clean. The only thing I would improve is the delay in being moved from A&E to the ward as this would then decrease the long wait in A&E to be seen.

Dear sextanscf66 - than you for providing this feedback in relation to your recent experience. I am sorry that you had a long wait, which we can appreciate was uncomfortable for you. Unfortunately, the increase in attendances in our Emergency Departments is resulting in significant delays for our patients.

Thank you for your kind words about our staff, they will really appreciate these lovely comments.

I hope you are feeling better

Best wishes

Christine Armstrong
