"All the staff have been fantastic"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Elective Overnight Stay Centre/Gynaecology Ward Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I was admitted to the Female Surgical Ward at Daisy Hill following problems with my gall bladder. My time in the Emergency Department was ok. The doctor's and nurses were all lovely. When it comes to the ED, the only thing I think could be improved would be the chairs - they are really bad and extremely sore to sit on for hours and hours.

Up on the Female Surgical Ward it has been lovely. All the staff have been fantastic - I really cannot fault them. I would like to mention Deirdre who has been lovely - she has been like the mummy of the ward. However, all the staff are brilliant. Only thing I think could be improved would be a bigger TV on the wards. Another hospital I stayed at previously had a TV card allowing you to rent a TV at your bedside - why couldn't something like that be implemented at Daisy Hill?

Dear foxtrotnk59

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on care opinion. I will pass on your lovely comments regarding nursing care in Female Surgical Ward to the team. We have explored before the possibility of upgrading to individual bedside TV but unfortunately this would require significant financial investment which is not something we can progress currently.

I hope your recovery is uneventful.
