"Heartbreak"

About: Peterborough City Hospital

My father in law was in ward B6 from Sept 16th to Oct 5th this year with cancer. He wasn’t allowed any visits from family in spite of numerous pleas, as staff said he wasn’t ill enough. He also broke his phone in the ward and staff restricted the number of calls that could be made on the ward phone.

Sadly two days after he came home he passed away. The family are devastated at losing a chance to see him in the last three weeks of his life.

Thank you for your email. Please accept my condolence.

I am so sorry to hear of your story and if you would like the opportunity to come and meet with me or ring me 01733 676744 or contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service 01733 673405 to arrange an appropriate time for you and your family to meet.

I am keen to understand what happened and to see if we can prevent other patients from experiencing the same problems.

Kind regards

Bernadette Jacques
